On behalf of the Alpine County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and staff, we would like to welcome you to the biggest celebration the smallest county by population in California has ever seen. 2014 marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of Alpine County. Alpine County was settled in a time when thousands of Americans flocked westward seeking fame, fortune and a new life. Alpine County was officially founded at the height of the American Civil War in 1864. Click here to read more about Alpine County’s 150 Year History.
As part of the 150 year celebrations, there will be many events leading up to and on the anniversary date. Those events are listed below & we will be adding to the list regularly as the anniversary approaches.
For those that have lived here, and those that continue to call Alpine County their home, the same pioneer spirit that the original settlers had, continues to be the foundation of everything that Alpine County stands for. We hope you will share in that same spirit and join us in this grand and historic milestone.
