Alpine County Scavenger Hunt Launches With Support From Small Businesses

The Alpine County Chamber of Commerce just launched an interactive scavenger hunt for visitors of all ages and ability levels to “Get Hooked On Alpine County.” From visiting and learning about area historical sites to logging a personal first against the backdrop of the “California Alps,” participants will not be at a loss for things to do during their visit.

Sponsored by local small businesses, all hunters who complete six out of the eight activities will be entered into a monthly drawing, with opportunities to win gift certificates to local merchants. The first drawing will take place on June 30, and the winner will receive a $25 gift card to The Alps Haus Cafe in Markleeville. Visit https://alpinecounty.com/events/scavenger-hunt to get started.

Two scavenger hunts are available: One for the Kirkwood-Markleeville-Woodfords area and one for the Lake Alpine-Bear Valley area. Anyone who completes both scavenger hunts will be entered into a year-end grand prize drawing. “Our hopes are to draw interest to all corners of our County,” says Executive Director Becky DeForest. “There is endless adventure, history, and beauty in Alpine County, and we want to inspire the explorer in each of our visitors.”

Businesses interested in sponsoring the hunt with a gift certificate can contact the Chamber office at (530) 694-2475 or by emailing info@alpinecounty.com.
