Sorensens Activity Historic Emigrant Trail Trek
September 17 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
We’re thrilled that our long-time historian, Frank Tortorich, will be back at it this summer leading our popular hikes along the Old Emigrant Trail. Long and hard were the days of our early emigrants and we know they made sojourns in our lovely meadow. But, we also know they did that because the hardest part of the 1849 Gold Rush was over nearby Carson Pass, most notably the treacherous Devil’s Ladder. Join Frank – going on 80 with a wealth of knowledge – on a walking, hiking, and driving tour that follows the very same paths where emigrants ventured. And, enjoy the tales of this remarkable journey across the states to the golden state of California. Bring sunblock, extra water, hat and a light jacket. Participants may be asked to drive their own vehicles. For trek and/or lodging reservations, call Sorensen’s at (800) 423-9949 or (530) 694-2203.
Dates: September 17: 8:30 to 3:00
Cost: $65 Sorensen’s guests ($95 non-guests); $30 children ages 6-13
(Prices include snacks, beverages and trailside lunch)
