With easy access and thousands of acres of terrain, snowmobile enthusiasts are drawn to Alpine County each winter to enjoy their motorized recreation. An extensive trail system and ample snow coverage complete the picture, ensuring a long season.
For snowmobilers traveling Highway 88, the Blue Lakes road SNO-PARKs offers access to an extensive region of trails, while on Highway 4, the SNO-PARKs at Lake Alpine is a starting point for rides as far east as Highland Lakes and Ebbett’s Pass. Snowmobile service, rentals and tours are also available in both Hope Valley and Bear Valley.
Note: A SNO-PARK permit is required for each vehicle parked at a SNO-PARK site from November 1 through May 30 of each year. Permits are sold as Day Permits or Seasonal Permits by permit vendors throughout northern California. Day permits are sold for $5.00 and are valid for one single day.
