With miles of scenic trails and highways, cycling enthusiasts come from around the world to ride in Alpine County. Road cyclists are drawn to the winding, scenic highways, including those which cross Carson Pass, Ebbetts Pass, Monitor Pass, and the Pacific Grade. Nestled within the "California Alps," our roadways are sure to test the climbing skills of any cyclist, while providing iconic views of the Sierra Nevadas.

Death Ride® - Tour of the California Alps
Alpine County Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual "Death Ride - Tour of the California Alps" each July. The ride is an iconic event that tests participants' endurance - featuring (up to) 15,000' of vertical climb and 129 miles, all in one day! Learn more at www.deathride.com.
Mountain Biking
Bike rentals are available at locations in Bear Valley and Kirkwood. Kirkwood Mountain Resort offers a mountain bike park with an extensive trail system and lift access on the weekends during July and August. Bear Valley Adventure Company keeps visitors to the Bear Valley region, near Lake Alpine and Bear Valley Resort, equipped for adventure!
